Hear from a panel of local fundraisers whose innovative approaches to virtual fundraising resulted in successful results for their organizations.

Colleen Combes has been working with local nonprofits for more than eight years, helping raise funds used to support youth in the community. She joined the Advancement Team at Cunningham Children’s Home in early August of 2019, recently transitioning to the role of Event and Volunteer Specialist. Cunningham Children's Home's Festival of Quilts raised more than $60,000 this year, after pivoting to a virtual format due to COVID-19. The organization received support from online sales, sponsorships, individual donations, third-party fundraisers and in-kind promotional support. Hear *all* about how Colleen and her team provided stellar stewardship to their friends and donors in the midst of a global pandemic.

Becca Guyette is the Chief Development Officer of United Way of Champaign County. In her role she oversees all resource development work at United Way, including the leadership giving and Women United programs. Becca has been with United Way since 2013, after working for 10 years at the University of IL YMCA. United Way's annual Power of the Purse event typically features a silent and live auction of over 200 purses -- many stuffed with gift cards, event tickets, or one-of-a-kind experiences. This year the event was held virtually and still raised 80% of last year's record-breaking revenue. Hear how Becca and her team provided an intimate, one-of-a-kind experience to their virtual supporters this year.

Ashley Morgan was hired as the Development & Events Coordinator for Crisis Nursery in March of 2019, after earning her MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is responsible for coordinating special events and fundraisers for the Nursery, and also has a role in developing and stewarding relationships with donors. Crisis Nursery was unable to host their Annual Winetasting and 27th Annual Dinner and Auction in-person this year, but the show went on(line)! Using OneCause (formerly BidPal) the team at Crisis Nursery was able to raise critical support to meet the organization's annual budget. Hear how Ashley and her team used this new format to reach--and entertain--supporters from the comfort of their own homes.
